Kennesaw, GA Neighborhoods with Walking Trails

By Justine Derby • Updated July 7, 2025

From 7-mile private loops to the paved Noonday Creek Greenway, discover the best
subdivisions in Kennesaw where you can lace up and go—no car keys required.

Why Trails Matter in Kennesaw

Kennesaw averages only 26 city-wide Walk Score, so neighborhoods with internal trail systems or direct access to the Noonday Creek Greenway command a premium with buyers who crave an active, car-light lifestyle. Trails boost property values up to 5 % and improve quality of life through easy recreation and social interaction.

Legacy Park — 7-Mile Private Loop

Legacy Park’s HOA maintains 7 miles of paved and natural-surface paths weaving through 117 acres of forest, creeks, and lakes. Residents jog from their porch to four community pools without crossing public roads. Wayfinding kiosks and Atlanta Running Trails rate the loop “4 ish miles per lap, medium hills.”

  • Connects to: Publix & restaurants on Jiles Rd (0.6 mi side path).
  • Best for: Families, strollers, casual cyclists.

Ridenour & Noonday Creek Access

This mixed-use village threads wood-chip walking paths between condos, craftsman homes, and a 55+ apartment campus. Sidewalks feed directly into the Noonday Creek Trail at the Shoppes at Ridenour bridge, giving residents a 10-minute bike to Kennesaw Mountain trailheads.

  • Internal mileage: 2.3 mi loop + spur to retail green.
  • Elevation: Rolling; great calf workout.

Barrett Green / Park View Spur

Although not on official Walk Score lists, Barrett Green (plus sister enclave Park View) maintains wood-bridge nature walks around two lakes and a junior-olympic pool. A HOA-owned cut-through connects to Price Park and ultimately the Cheatham Hill section of Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield.

Arden Lake’s Wooded Circuit

With only 130 homes, Arden Lake hides a ¾-mile shaded trail circling its spring-fed lake plus a cut-through to Shillings Park. Nextdoor surveys rank it “walkable” for daily loops and dog walks.

Town Center CID & Noonday Greenway

While not a single subdivision, the Town Center Community Improvement District strings apartments, offices, and shops along the 8.6-mile Noonday Creek Trail. A forthcoming pedestrian bridge will let joggers cross Cobb Pkwy without traffic. Neighborhoods within a ½-mile walk include:

  • Barrett Lakes Apts & Shiloh Valley townhomes
  • The Ledges & Addison at Towns Center apartments

Perfect for KSU students and tech workers craving a “bike-to-work”

Choosing the Right Trail Community

  1. Walk It First : Visit after 6 pm when locals are out; note lighting & security.
  2. Trail Fees : Private paths are usually funded by HOA—factor dues into budget.
  3. Connectivity Goals : If you want to bike to KSU or the Mountain, prioritize Noonday Creek access.
  4. Check Future Projects : Town Center CID plans two new trail spurs by 2027. Early buyers stand to gain value.
